DRESSING UP A NATION

What do the clothes people wear say about a nation ? Let's look at the Okataian case, in Oka you have large outlets that rival international companies like H&M or Forever21, but they are mainly active in East Asia for now, what do they say about the Okataian People?

This is an attempt at designing posters or billboards you might see around Oka, on TV, magazines or on the streets!

______________

HERITAGE CLOTHING

Image
New stores opening in Mikenstein and Carolina soon

Though boasting both male and female collection, the store is popular among women for it's classical, somewhat authentic and toned down approach. The company is owned by Walter 'Sera' Seiji, who is now Oka's 11th richest man as per the Ryujin 50.

Heritage's success comes from two key aspects. First of all modesty where in a traditionally confusian nation no one should stand out too much, second of all, the heritage of past designs that have proven to be succesful

______________

AEON CLOTING & ACCESSORIES

Image
The new Okataian man?

Strong, Energetic, Healthy, Smart and Affluent. Aeon sell for the best Oka has to offer, meaning "Life spirit" Aeon promotes the "Sanai" model for Okataian Men, but what is Sanai? Sanai is an old term refering to men with the physical traits of a Senden (Warrior).

Today's warriors don't fight, but are these active young men that push a nation forward. And the women? Gone is the sterotype of the docile Asian wife, it's all about showing who runs the show!

______________

ESCAPE CLOTHING

Image
Not so alternative nowadays

On the opposite side of the spectrum, you find the "Kyonoi" aesthetic, literaly meaning "Today's" aesthetic, Escape focus on men with less imposing figures but who are as equally attractive and smart.

Distinctively Metrosexual, in Oka describing a man (especially one living in an urban, post-industrial, capitalist culture) as a "Kyonoi" - is describing a man who is especially meticulous about his grooming and appearance, typically spending a significant amount of time and money on shopping as part of this.

______________

FLOW_MOTION

Image
Forever young

From scrunchies to tube tops, logomania, and even visors, some of the most embarrassing trends of the past three decades are making unexpected fashion comebacks. The once cringe-worthy throwback looks are now cooler than ever thanks to the It girls of today. the collections are especially diverse you'll find anything from vintage coats to skintight leather or PVC pants, Wowza

Aimed at young women, flow_motion is a blast from the past, there is maybe a sense of melancholy and nostalgia and surely a form of resistance to Oka's Pop culture, women who dress in Flow_Motion hate Kpop and Drama's, they are pragmatic, urban and alert.

The 90's comeback in Oka is especially popular in the burgeoning Hip Hop scene, see Oka Shūki

Then again, I don't exactly mind having more skintight leather and PVC pants on the legs of women in Neu Wesfalen either. Maybe we should open a few shops too. 8)
