A tiny teaser of a side project I'm working on in Cities Skyline, a small middle eastern city with a twist ;) I'll be using pdf maps take from the game to explain this project and thanks to the game we will visualise the city :)

Nice, another side project. Why Jakka though, sounds like an Indo city.

Here's another picture taken earlier of the city center inside :) Cheers!

I've changed the name to Jaqqa, and I'm trying to make this a very christian influenced place, Stan told me about Nestorians which seems quite interesting ! the RL location isn't quite set, or either between Qatar and Iran, or North of Bahrain ? I'd love your ideas!

The island of Qeshm in southern Iran was taken by the Portuguese as a trading port with the Gulf. I suggest modifying some history to make it taken by the British later in history. It could also be a safe haven for Nestorian refugees from Iran and Iraq. ;)

Now this looks interesting. Is this supposed to be one of the Gulf states/cities? :)

Yes, I'm certainly building that, as for history and culture I'm trying to see on the arabic Christian side of the spectrum :)

I did see that, Now maybe I'll add a British Island that was part of the Trucial State under British Administration, and then became this safe haven with military support of UK and US :wasntme: I'm currently working on flags

I don't know about a Christian-majority Arab nation because this part of the world is strongly Muslim. Doesn't seem right. :P

The images are great though, especially the last one of Qa'isab Avenue. :D

There is historical basis, especially since, even today, there are remnants of pre-Islamic Middle Eastern Christians scattered throughout the Muslim world. ;)

Yeah, of course there are Christians in Arab countries. :P I don't think there are any though where Christianity is the dominant religion.

Yeah but Gregor’s proposed side nation would be a city state, so it may be possible with a few lucky points of divergence. ;)

Regardless of the religion, it's a fine looking city!

It's not easy, and let's sy that for now it's more of an experiment than anything too serious.. The creative side of me likes the creative aspect of seeing a Christian city state, especially that the island of queshm for example is reffered to in one of the unofficial bibles as being Eden.. Aswell as a city state, maybe until 1970's it was only just a small bishopry with approx 40,000 people, and then it evolved at the same time as Doha, Dubai etc retaining this christian specificity

Yet the more realistic player inside of me might want a "more liberal" bahrain with a muslim majority but a strong christian community.

I'll keep you posted :)
